Taffeta fabric was chosen for the asymmetrical jackets because the crisp fabric holds its shape well as a result of the tightly twisted yarns that have been woven together.  The lustrous shine that is unique to taffeta adds to the make an entrance look.  That it has been woven to exhibit two colorways adds to the versatility of these jackets.
